Claire and Alec’s day was so incredibly personalized – we created a day that was perfect for only them, from the details, to the pacing and activities.
The Personal Details
Details were incredibly thought out, from their alternative rings (he also had an engagement ring for himself throughout the engagement), to the little details like his fish tie pin and pearl detailing Claire’s veil to tie in their love for the ocean. They spend a lot of their summers in their flower garden making each other bouquets, so Alec made Claire’s bridal bouquet as they were getting ready.
A Day Full of Activities
They knew they didn’t want to just get dressed, say vows, and call it good. To celebrate their marriage, they wanted their day to feel like the best date ever! After their private ceremony, they “jumped the paddle” instead of a broom and hopped in their kayaks to enjoy the lake from another perspective, like they do so often together.
Because they had so many of their relationship milestones around the ocean, we headed to the north shore of Olympic National Park for beach-combing. They picked out rocks that looked like their eyes and tried their best to skip rocks in the waves.
As the sun set, they sipped sparkling water (a staple in their diet, ever since their college years) and reminisced on their favorite past sunsets. One particular one in Hawaii after they got engaged seemed like it might’ve been the closest rival, but the sunset on their wedding day was their favorite so far.

I was barely functioning, my partner was just starting to feel sick, and yet because Allison did extensive research and scouting to find the most beautiful locations, supported my partner with things on my to do I didn’t have energy for (like steaming my dress), and adjusted the schedule in real-time to make sure we prioritized what was most important for us, I was able to take a back seat and actually relax and enjoy the day.
I was debating only working with Allison for a half day instead of the full day, but in hindsight I’m so glad we opted for the full day because it allowed me to start the day calm and not rushed to try to fit everything in all at once (and Allison’s encouragement and support during the getting ready process was so appreciated).”
